I have had ongoing lower right side back pain for over a year. I had gone to an ortho a couple times their solution was to wait it out and try PT. PT did not help, nor did waiting. pain is severe and effects daily living. what plan of action should i do now?
Hi Thanks for posting your query on HCM Chronic right lower back pain could be caused by many medical conditions some of which are: osteoarthritis, with lumber disc herniation or degenerative disc disease, sprain/strain and infectious causes less likely. Given the chronic nature, you may need tests like a hip/lower back X-ray, or MRI to identify the exact cause.Treatment options for lower right back pain may include : pain medications like ibuprofen, myorelexants like miorel, steroid shots and physiotherapy. Some lifestyle/home remedies that may help you get over your pain include: regular exercise, maintain a good weight, use heat or cold packs to manage pain and topical pain medications.I will suggest you see a Rheumatologist if all these options and home remedies do not relieve you. Hope my answer will help you Best regards
