What Causes Lower Back Pain?

Hi, my name s Michelle, I m 22 years old, height 5 4 weight 185lbs. I have sudden lower back pain after a 2.5hr trip that I made in the middle of May this year. The pain keeps coming back. I cant bend over to put my shoes on without a stabbing pain, even standing and sitting is an achy pain. The only thing that helps is when I lay on my back with my knees up. I dont know what it is or if I should see my PCP or a specialist. please help.
