What Causes Lower Left Abdominal Pain?

Hi, I have had mild pain in the left lower abdomen for the past year and half. Got abdominal and pelvic, TV ultrasounds, approx 2.3mm cysts found, but that s it. Even today, I have the pain and lately notice some tubelike hardness in the lower left abdomen and slight pain going to the back. Haven t had any other symptoms related to digestion or menstrual. Periods were delayed by 6 days this month and body temperature felt very high, but was not feverish. Please advise.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

I would advice you to have a gynecological visit to rule out pelvic inflammatory disease. According to the findings the doctor might also need to do a pregnancy test and take some samples for chlamydia and gonorrhea as well.

If the gynecological examination is normal than constipation is a very likely cause and having extra fiber with diet and lactulose syrup might help.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
