What Causes Lower Left Sided Abdominal Pain?

Hello, my issue is that I have been having lower left side abdominal pain. At 1st I thought maybe it was due to my menstrual however the pain has remained and is now constant. I don t do my workout like I use to planks, or anything that has me use my lower abdominal muscles. is there some stretches that I can do? or can it be something I would have to have a doctor look at?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,
Thank you for your query.
Yes, I suggest that you have it looked at by your doctor.

Pain is a warning signal and as it has only progressed, the cause needs to be evaluated. I would like to primarily rule out diverticulitis, ovarian cysts & kidney stones

Would you clarify a few things for me?
* what is you height and weight? How old are you?
*any changes in bowel habits or urination?
*any change in diet? Weight loss /gain?
*do you smoke or consume alcohol?
*any other medical issues or medications?
*any surgeries in the past?
* any other symptoms? Like fever, vomiting?

I recommend :
-a physician consult
- an ultrasound abdomen. A CT scan may be required if Intestinal pathology is suspected or if more detailed imaging is required.
-blood tests (complete blood count, erythrocyte sedimentation rate, kidney and liver function tests, blood glucose levels )
-urine analysis
-plenty of water Intake
-pain medication as prescribed

Based on the above results and clinical findings, a treatment plan will initiated.

Hope this helps and you feel better soon.
Wish you good health. Please let me know if there is anything else I can help you with.
