Thank you for asking Healthcare majic.
My name is Dr Ehsan Ullah &
I have gone through your query.
The lump above your collar bone can be some skin swelling or in structures lying just beneath skin like
abscess (Which is a collection),
Lipoma ( A collection of fat tissue which is
benign tumor basically)
an
enlarged lymph node which may become enlarged in infection or some pathology of the Chest
like
oesophagus
or
in cases of upper Gastro-intestinal tract pathology...
there are several other conditions
like
Bracheal cyst
which present in such areas but that is congenital condition (a condition which is Since birth)
and
carotid body lesions ---
Carotid body is small cluster of cellsnear the
carotid artery (which runs along both sides of the throat)
it can also be
dermoid cyst which is a collection of different body components on a location...
All you need in such cases is
evaluation of such swelling ,
after such assessment you may have to undergo some Labs
including
ultrasound of this swelling for
definitive diagnosis and treatment ..
most of such swellings are diagnosed with just clinical examination by the physician.
Hope this may help you. Let me know if anything not clear.
Thanks.
