Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have had a lump behind my left ear about two fingers from behind ear, it feels like it's on lymph node, I turn my head to the right and I can feel it even better! It's been there for about 3 weeks, some days it will get all big and swollen and some days it's not noticeable... What should I do... And do you think it's something like cancer?!
I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..
As per your complain the most common cause of formation of lump behind the ear can be a swollen lymph node secondary to infection in head and neck region.. While few other causes can be Sebaceous cyst, lipoma, abscess etc.. The confirmation of cause can be done after a clinical evaluation and investigations like Biopsy if needed.. I would suggest you to consult a General Physician and get evaluated and treatment can be planned accordingly.. The Physician can advise you to take antibiotics and do warm compresses in case of lymph node enlargement secondary to infection.. Other cases will be treated according to the confirmation of diagnosis..
Hope this information helps..
Thanks and regards. Dr.Honey Nandwani Arora.
