What Causes Lump Below Rib Cage While Recovering From Upper Respiratory Infections?

Just getting over an upper respiratory infection. Had lots of coughing and chest is sore from coughing. Also have a lump about thee inches below my rib cage. When I cough I feel pain in the area of the lump. The lump has been there for some time I think it might be a lipoma or fatty tissue lump. I do not remember feeling pain there before.
