Hi, i have just discovered a large lump under my collarbone above my breast bone. I had both my breasts removed on 3rd April and reconstructed using the tram method. Please could you tell me if the cancer could be up there and would this not have shown in the mammogram. I am currently undergoing radiotherapy to the lower left breast and this lump is above the left breast ?
Hi and welcome to Healthcaremagic. Thank you for your query. I am Dr. Rommstein and I will try to help you as much as I can.
Ultrasound and biopsy is required to rule out cancer. However this is commonly seen after surgery since subcutaneous scars, fibromas or organised hematomas may occur at any time after surgery. But to be sure, you should do ultrasound.
I hope I have answered you query. If you have any further questions you can contact us.
Kindly regards. Wish you a good health.
