What Causes Lump Filled With Fluid Above Cheek Bone?
My husband woke up with pocket of fluid an inch under his left eye-kind of above the cheek bone. He has no vision changes or sinus issues at this time, but does feel like he has the flu. The whites of his eyes are clear. Any idea what is causing the pocket?
Hello and welcome to HCM, A fluid filled swelling under your eye and above cheek bone could be due to a cyst formation. Flu usually causes watering of eyes, nasal discharge, fever, etc. Cyst formation is unlikely, however, a clinical assessment is required. Along with clinical assessment, CT scan od the head is required to assess the status of the para-nasal sinuses. Cysts can be associated with sinusitis. In case there is evidence of sinusitis, appropriate treatment needs to be taken.
