Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
i am concerned about my son he is 20 now, but years ago about 8 years ago he had a fever and lost weight and like small bruises under his skin all over his body. the doctors at the time said it was viral he was laid up all summer now at 20 i notice he has a lump on his arm just outside his elbow and it complaining of neck pain constantly. his father had hodgkin lymphoma when he was 34 and i was wondering if there is a similarity or if this is heredity..
The cause of swelling at the elbow may not be related to the old problems or Hodgkin's, it may be due to problems related to the elbow joint like synovitis or so. Orthopedic Surgeon can help diagnosis by clinical examination, FNAC after ultrasound or MRI of the affected area. He may be in a position to know the cause of neck pain, get investigated as per clinical presentation and treated accordingly.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. T. Chandrakant, General Surgeon
