What Causes Lump On Jaw Line While Recovering From Sinus Infection?
I have a hard painful lump in my upper right jaw just above the tooth line and it hurts to bite down or press down on tooth, as well. Just getting over a sinus infection. Could there be any connection or is there something going on with my tooth, gum or jawbone ??
I have gone through your query and can understand your concern..
As per your complain a hard lump just above the toothline seems to be most probably related to tooth and as there is pain on biting there seems to be infection in tooth that has progresses below the root tips of the tooth and is leading to formation of a dental abscess due to pus formation below the root tips of tooth..
I would suggest you to consult a Dentist and get evaluated and he can do a clinical examination and also take an x ray of the tooth and in case of dental abscess he can advise you root canal treatment if tooth can be saved or extraction of the tooth if tooth cannot be saved.. It will be followed by antibiotics and painkillers..
As of now you can avoid chewing from painful side.. Take a soft diet.. In case of pain you can apply numbing gel over the swelling and take painkillers like Ibuprofen or diclofenac.. Do warm saline gargles..
Hope this information helps..
Thanks and regards. Dr.Honey Nandwani Arora..
