I have a lump that has developed over the last several weeks. I have been doing alot of strenuous lifting as I m in the middle of a move. It is approximately the size of a small nerf football and located on the right side between my rib cage and hip, I went to urgent care and the Dr. was miffed and couldn t explain what the lump was and suggested a CT Scan. Yesterday I went to the ER as the pain was getting to be less tolerable. The ER physician ordered a CT scan and blood work. Negative on the CT Scan and blood work -hyperglycemic at 460. Sodium Cloride IV x 2. ER physician discharged me without providing a known diagnosis for the lump stating hyperglycemic with abdominal distension. I am a 47 year old white male, 5 7 180lbs, smoker, diabetic but not on insulin. The ER physician did not conduct a physical exam or examine the lump (press on it or check my belly) I thought that was unusual. ER referred me back to my family dr. ? No pain meds given or instructions to manage the pain for the area. Could it be a pulled muscle? Torn muscle? If the CT scan identified an abnormality at some point the ER attending would have told me correct?
