Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I shaved 2 weeks ago and thought i mightve had an ingrown hair, but the pain went away and the lump stayed. It is small, doesnt hurt, and gets red and pokes out when ive tried to pop it. The only problem is there isnt anything to pop. Its on my face about 2 inches from the corner of my mouth and its embarrassing, i want to get an idea of what it is and possible solutions to get rid of it.
I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns....
As per your complain it seems that a small lump that has come up after shaving can be an ingrown hair that has curled down and grown back towards the skin in place of growing away from the skin.. I would suggest you to apply a steroid ointment over it.. You can also apply retinoid containing ointment like Adapelene..
In case if it still does not resolve you can consult a physician and in case if it is an ingrown hair the physician can pot a small incision over the lump after apply anaesthesia gel and let the hair grow outwards.. He can also remove the hair that is growing towards skin..
Hope this information helps..
Thanks and regards. Dr.Honey Nandwani Arora..
