hello,
i can understand your concern.
based on the location of the lump it can either be a sub occipital
lymph nodal enlargement due to an infection such as
dandruff or it can also be a lipoma.
lipomas are usually painless swellings soft to touch most of the times.
they can rarely be painful.
if the size of the lump is increasing as suggested by you and if it is restricting your movements i would suggest a FNAC(fine needle aspiration cytology) where a syringe is used to aspirate from the swelling and this is checked under the microscope.
use an antinflammtory drug like
aceclofenac to reduce the pain and inflammation, ashort course of antibiotic like
augmentin would also be required.
if the swelling doesnt reduce with these the definite treatment would be surgical resection of the same. this is a minor day care procedure.
hope i have answered your queries.
feel free to ask further queries.
thanks for choosing HCM.
