Hello and welcome to HCM,
Is there any history of trauma to the chest in recent past?
Pain in the swelling with breathing is suggestive of musculoskeletal lesion.
A X-ray of the chest is required to assess the status of bony rib cage for fractures and surrounding soft tissues.
I suggest you to consult your primary healthcare provider for clinical assessment and relevant investigations.
If the lump appears to be due to soft tissue swelling, rest and pain-killers are required.
If any fracture of rib is seen, rest, pain-killers and strapping will help.

Thanks and take care
