Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have a small pea size lump under my collar bone on the left side of my neck. Ive had bloods done which were fine except kidney function test was low at 51 which i had repeated but it just improved to 53 so ive to go back and have it repeated in 4 weeks. Ive have to go and get a neddle test for the lump. Any ideas what it may be?
Hi & Welcome. I appreciate your concern for the lump under the left collar bone.
Incomplete data like duration of the lump, any associated pain, any fever, loss of appetite or weight, any history of cough, etc.
The lump could be due to infection, inflammation or cancer disease. The relevant lab tests like FNAC (fine needle aspiration cytology), or biopsy is required to confirm the diagnosis along with ESR, CBC, DC, liver and kidney function tests.
Hope the explanation for the possibility of causes could be helpful in getting the proper diagnosis and treatment under a physician's supervision.
