What Causes Lump Under The Rib Cage Along With Chronic Cough?
My daughter has a "lump" under her ribs on the left side. She has been coughing for almost a month. She was diagnosed with a sinus infection and finished the antibiotics but she's still sick. I'm worried about the swollen area. She says it feels "wet" but there isn't anything there. It hurts when she coughs and when she moves certain ways. Any thoughts?
As per your query your wife have lump under the rib cage along with chronic cough. Well the symptoms you mention in query are pointing towards a condition like epigastric hernia , costochondritis , lung infection or lipoma . I would suggest you to consult general practitioner for proper examination . Doctor may order ultrasound , chest x-ray or take sample for lab test . Doctor may also check physically for tenderness and consistency . Doctor may order surgical excision , prescribe antibiotics . Doctor may refer you to dermatologist for liposuction . Doctor may also refer you to chest specialist for chest infection . For now apply warm compresses and do not massage it .
Hope your concern has been resolved.
