What Causes Lumps In Pubic Area After Trimming Pubic Hair?

Hi, i was trimming the hair around my pubic area with a pair of scissors the other day with no problem. But today, i noticed some bumps, itchiness and dryness around my mons pubis area (i think that s what its called) and also some irritation-like bumps on my labia majora/minora. And no, i have never been sexually active before. Do you think this is a reaction from the in grown hairs? And what can i do to solve this problem?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Yes, bumps can form due to ingrown hairs and wrong direction of shaving or trimming (always shave in the direction of your hair). Keep your pubic area clean and moisturized. It will go away on its own. It happens the next time, stop shaving and start waxing or go for laser if it suits you economically.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
