Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have lumpy tendons in my left hand. What is this condition called? I was told to go to a specialist but I do not have the money. A friend has the same condition and has had it for years. No pain, but after years, her little finger is bent and she cannot straighten it out. I do not want surgery. How fast does this condition progress to the point that the tendons pull on the fingers or hand?
Hello and thank you for your question. It sounds like you have a tendon sheath cyst. This is a condition that may worsen with time but it may also resolve on its own. Use some warm compresses on it and make sure to stretch the area regularly and hopefully you will not progress to the point where you would need a surgery. Many patients get these frequently and they just go away without treatment. Regards
