What Causes Lumps On Upper Jaw After Wisdom Tooth Removal?
I had my wisdom tooth and back tooth taken out two weeks ago on the top. I have two lumps one on my upper jaw next to cheek on my jaw bone and one opposite on the side of the roof of my mouth. Now something sharp is piercing through and its sore and hurts. What could it be?
I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..
As per your complain and presentation of symptoms the swelling that is persistent even after 2 weeks of extraction is most probably due to either any left over root piece or any foreign body impaction within the extraction socket..
This leads to infection and inflammation and swelling..
The sharp piece is nothing but sharp bony crest that is left after extraction..
You should consult a dentist and get an x Ray done and if there is left over root piece or foreign body inclusion then removal of the same followed by antibiotics and painkillers will help..
The sharp bony elevation will be trimmed down and smoothened so that it no more cause gum injury and soreness..
Hope this information helps..
Thanks and regards.. Dr.Honey Nandwani Arora.
