Hello,
Lump on your chin may be due to trauma as you mentioned. Lump in your armpit needs detailed evaluation to rule out cancer. Lump in the armpit may be due to cyst, furuncle infection of hair follicle, swollen lymph node, lymphomas, abscesses,
infectious mononucleosis,
breast cancer or lipoma.
Hence detailed examination and biopsy is necessary for specific cause and treatment.
Bone marrow biopsy is done to detect unexplained anemia (lack of red blood cells), abnormal numbers of blood cells (red blood cells, white blood cells, or platelets), lack of iron (
iron deficiency), cancers of the blood-forming tissue (leukemia or lymphoma), cancers that have spread to the bone marrow, and response to
chemotherapy. Hence, to evaluate or rule out any of the above conditions, bone marrow biopsy is done.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
