I am a 54-year old female. I have a single swollen lymph node on the right side of my anterior neck, just below what I believe would be the submandibular area. I finished a 5-day pack of arithromycin (for persistent cough) not more than a week ago. This swollen node is new since then, having developed just in the last day or so. My cough improved on the antibiotic, but has not completely resolved. I have not had any other cold symptoms. I have for the past few years had upper left abdominal pain, including in the lowest rib area, and pain in my left shoulder, all of which is thought to be nerve pain. The ulq area is also swollen and has been for several years. More recently, I’ve developed pain in my urq (milder than in the left) including the lowest ribs and also right anterior shoulder. Because of the upper abdominal pain and about two years of profound iron-deficiency anemia, I had both upper and lower endoscopy twice in about a 2-year time period and an abdominal ultrasound all of which were normal, except that the radiologist who read the US noted that he couldn’t see the pancreatic tail, which was obscured. The brand new single swollen node is troubling me in light of the course of azithromycin I just had. What are your thoughts? Also had 3-D breast tomosynthesis a few months ago, followed by right breast ultrasound. Normal. Heterogeneously dense breasts. I recently discovered that upper and lower endoscopy, which I thought covered it all, does not offer visualization of the small bowel. I would very much appreciate knowing your thoughts on this. Thank you so much.
