Female, 38 yrs old, suffer with constipation and hemorrhoids. For the last 3 days I have been passing foul smelling gas all day and night long. It is very embarrassing. Lately my diet consists of morning smoothies, chicken and fish mostly for dinner. Lunch is the usual sandwich. Broadly, what could I be suffering with to help my pop understand that I need a specialist or at least different diagnostics?
Hi. Thanks for your query. Noted the history about a 38 year old woman having started with foul smelling gas all day and night for the last 3 days, is known to have constipation and hemorrhoid. Diet consists of morning smoothies, chicken, fish; wants to know whether need to see a Specialist or at least different diagnostics. The commonest cause of foul smelling gas is overgrowth gas producing bacteria, usually in colon. This can be cured by the following ways: Consult your Doctor. Send the stool and blood for tests. Get a course of an antibiotic active against intestinal/colonic infection, probiotics. Stop aerated beverages. Stop all the foods and beverages that are not freshly cooked at home.
