Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Memory Issues After Taking Gabapentin Tablet?
I am taking 2400 mg of gabapentin a day. I have had back surgery and continue to have pain. This was prescribed for that. I am in grad school and having memory issues. I have a follow up appointment in a week. Is it ok to decrease my dose from 4 a day to 3, in hopes that my foggy brain will improve?
Consult your dr and don't do it by yourself.he may increase the night time dose and may decrease the day time dose.this will be more acceptable to you.
This drug has some irritating side effects like vertigo, dizziness, sedation and memory issues but a rewarding drug for pain and related anxiety. Many ppl are that upset that they discontinue the treatment.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr AJEET SINGH, General & Family Physician
