What Causes Menorrhagia When Diagnosed With Hypothyroidism?
I have menorrhagia(blood always gushes out) problem for past 12 yrs ever since my first delivery (10 months after delivery). Recently my elder daughter attained menarche and she too is having same problem, which is disrupting her daily life too...what can be the cause. It was not heridetery for me neither had gushing problem before my first pregnancy. I am getting regularly checked ever since , d&c also done once ...without much result. Everything turn out fine. I am hypothyroid (under control) and daughter is not(recently checked). What is the cause of gushing in us...
Hi Thanks for posting on HCM Among the causes of menorrhagia are blood clotting disorders. These disorders are hereditary.Thyroid problems also do cause menorrhagia. However, same problems with your Daughter point more to a hereditary blood clotting disorder to investigate like von Willebrand's disease or hemophilia.A possible thyroid origin is possible with you but not your daughter. You may see a Gynecologist to investigate for any hormonal imbalances/ovarian dysfunction. If no cause found, you see a Hematologist for investigations for a hereditary clotting problems. Hope my answer will help you Best wishes
