What Causes Menstrual Cramping After Having Unprotected Sex?

My girlfriend and I had unprotected sex last night and I finished inside of her. She is on the pill and has been for a while but she just got off her period Saturday. She started the pill again Sunday so it s been about four days. Anyway tonight she started feeling cramps like she would if her period was about to start. Could this be pregnancy?

Hi there.

Thanks for the query.

If after sexual intercourse she got her period that means she is not pregnant.

Kindly be careful about sexual intercourse while she is on the pill and make sure you use adequate protection to prevent unwanted pregnancy and sexually transmitted diseases.

Encourage her to drink plenty of water and keep the genital area clean to avoid any infections.

Thanking you.

Regards,

Dr. Aashish Raghu
