General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Mineral is a contraceptive device loaded with long acting hormone. It therefore is known to have irregular/heavy bleeding specially in earlier days of insertion of device. Such bleeding stops without any treatment.

If it does not stop, in few cases with long use. It is advised to exclude ovarian cyst by USG pelvic scanning. If found cyst needs specific treatment.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
