What Causes Metallic Taste In Mouth And Burning Sensation In The Throat?

My freind has an AVM, she has undergone 3 glue treatments but due to financial devastation she is unable to continue with the radiation. She occasionally experiences episodes in which she becomes disoriented, taste a metallic taste in the back of her throat and becomes extremely panicked or anxious. What is it? She is taking a medication for seizures, but it makes her very tired and she still occasionally has the above experience
