What Causes Metallic Taste In The Mouth While Undergoing Chemotherapy?

My wife is age 73 and undergoing chemo for breast cancer HER2. She has metal mouth and just can t eat or drink anything without feeling sick. Her vitals were resting 115/78 with a BP of 96. She says she is very weak. She also suffers from neuropathy of her hands and feet. She is also suffering UTI and is taking Levaquin and Potassium.

Welcome to healthcare magic.
As per your complain you have problem of metalic fast in mouth because of lack production of saliva inside a mouth .Chemotherapy lead to xerostomia.

Take a more water and suger free chew gum helpful to produce a saliva.
Avoid spicy food, acidic food ,fried food.
Drug like pilocarpine stimulate a saliva..can taken under doctor's suggestion.
Artificial saliva can use.
Specialized mouth wash can use .
Consult a oral physician for further treatment.
