Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I started on period on time this month which was August 1st, bleed for 2 and half days then stopped and started back which is normal for me however since then I have had on and off bleeding which is pinkish to light red. Sometimes when I urinate first thing in morning and sometimes after sex and sometimes during the day. Its not enough to wear a pad or tampon. We are now on August 7th, what could be wrong?
Mid cycle spotting may occur even normally due to ovulation bleeding.Pink spotting mixed with cervical fluid can occur in such conditions. Other cause can be due to hormonal imbalance caused by polycystic ovaries, fibroids.
Pregnancy should also be ruled out in case of recent sexual activity.Any history increased vaginal discharge or smelly discharge should be ruled out. Excess bleeding for more than 7 days should be treated to prevent further blood loss.
Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Saranya Ramadoss, General & Family Physician
