What Causes Migraines With Aura Accompanied By Nausea And Vomiting?
Yes, thank you. I am in my mid 40 s & have suffered from migraines since the age of 15. For the past 2 days I have had a migraine with aura, n/v. I sent my husb. To pharmacy to get my refill (Fioricet) & he came back only to tell me that my dr had called pharm 2 wks ago & cancelled my refills. I donknow what s going on & iso sick with this migraine. 1. What can I do now & 2. How should approach my dr about what he did without sounding confrontational. I like my dr very much & have been seeing him for about 16 yrs. I didn t realize there was a fee attached to this. I don t have the $$ to pay for this
Fioricet is a very good and dependable medication and often works well for migraines. It does have the potential effect of becoming dependent on it which may have been your physician's concern, particularly if your headaches are increasing. Your physician may wish to change you to something more potent or even a medication that you take daily to prevent the migraines from happening.
If you are having these very often then Fioricet may be a bad choice at least for now. Regarding discussing this with your doctor, I would be honest and tell him/her your concerns. It sounds like you have a very long-standing relationship with them and I know firsthand that I would much rather have a long-time patient be completely honest about how they are feeling rather than not mention it at all.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
