What Causes Mild Acne Along With Red Itchy Rashes On Face?
I have always had mild acne and very sensative skin. I'm 6 months pregnant and have broke out into red, bumpy, itchy rash on top of having the acne. My doctor said it was from the hormones and to use a small amount of topical benadryl. I did and it seems to have not only helped with the rash but the inflammed acne as well. Does benadryl normally helpfull with acne? I was hoping I could use it as a spot treatment even after the rash subsides.
I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..
As per your complain yes, it is true that hormonal changes can exaggerate acne especially in acne prone individuals as well as it can also lead to changes over skin and rashes and bumps can be due to it..
As far as Benadryl is concerned it is an anti allergic medication and can relieve allergy induced symptoms and can be effective in case of acne only if it is due to allergic reaction and not other causes..
I would suggest you that along with benadryl application you can also do cool compresses over the face and do cold water splashes.. Drink plenty of water and maintain a good hygiene of face.. Limit sun exposure..
Hope this information helps..
Thanks and regards. Dr.Honey Nandwani Arora.
