What Causes Mild Antral Gastritis While Suffering From Bowel Ulcer?
I have a ulcer of 5 mm on terminal ileal with few erosions, found during colonoscopy which was done for excessive cronic flatulence ( around 2 years) , 4-5 times of bowel movement which was little loose and not very frequent blood in stool (may be once in 2 month ) . There is no pain . No other apparent problem. Biopsy has been taken for the ulcer and I am waiting for the result. I have mild antral gastritis as well found during Endoscopy. I am little worried of Chrons or other serious illness. Medication Providac, normaxin, rifaximin 550 and Sompraz 40 is given to me. I am little worried of Chrons or other serious illness Can somebody help me ? What is the prognosis in this case? Thanks Vipin
As per my clinical experience, antral gastritis sounds in relation with chronic indigestion, food intake pattern related issue or else. As the colonoscopy is revealing small ulcer on terminal ileum surface the biopsy of the same is must to be evaluated for the tissue diagnosis, as many clinical conditions do suggest this finding as - Chronic enteric fever - Tuberculosis - Inflammatory bowel disease - Others
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
