Dear doctor, I have been a vegeterian for 17 years and 2 years ago I started feeling dizzy and had panic attacks. Last summer I was diagnosed with a deficit of Vitamin B12 and folic acid. The neurologist prescribed Vitamin B12 shots once a week for 3 months and at the end of these, 5 mg of folic acid once a day for a lifetime. She also said that I should get 1 shot of vit B12 monthly for a lifetime too.My panic attact and dizziness dissapeared, but I still feel weak and kind of nervous sometimes.I became a vegeterian because I had acne for 26 years since I was 12 and no doctor helped me on that respect, so I decided to change my food habits as a way to purify my sytem. Fortunately, it worked. During 15 years, I had no health problems at all, but I have always wanted to know if that was related with the abnormal functioning of my liver, since it has to do with the dissolving of grease (oily food). Sorry I don t have the ideal term here) Does it have to do with that? Besides, I have read that excess of folid acid is not good and I want to know if you have updated studies on this matter. I am a 51 year old woman from Chile, SouthAmerica. Thanks a lot and blessings.
