What Causes Mild Burning Sensation In The Heart And Throat?

Hello. A little over a week ago, I began hearing a lot of acid in My stomach. No pain, I could just feel it in my belly. So, Last Tuesday, I was put on Omeprazole by my cousin, a Physician Assistant. Now it s been 1 full week, and for the past 2 days I ve been experiencing some slight heart burn, and I can feel a burning sensation in my threat. Not really painful, but it burns. Omeprazole didn t help me at all. I can feel the acid in my throat, and whenever I lay down or before bed time, I feel like it gets worse. Not sure what to do.I ve also been on Pepcid because prior to hearing the acid, I was experiencing some stomach issues. Went to the doctor, took a stool and blood test, and everything came back fine. Not sure what to do about my current situation. Please help. Keep in mind. I have an appointment with a GI specialist on Tuesday, but I can t afford to wait and bear the burn!!

Hi,
Welcome to Healthcaremagic.com.

I had gone through your question I can understand your concern about your gastric upset.

As per your history and symptoms it seems to me the gastroesophagial reflux disease.

You need to take omperazole and domperidone combination medication (ominous D) or pantoprazole DSR, empty stomach early morning for a month or two.

Also raise your head side of bed by 4 inches, avoid spicy, oily, and junk foods. Avoid late night foods and drinks too.

Hope my answer will help you and you can write to us further if you feel any assistance is needed.

Regards.
Dr Muzaffer Hussain Parray.
