What Causes Mild Chest Pain After Wisdom Tooth Removal?

My 18 year old son is having mild chest pains after having all 4 wisdom teeth removed 6 days ago. He is currently being treated for 2 dry sockets. Tums seem to temporarily relieve the discomfort. Should we be worried? Does he need to be seen by the oral surgeon?

Hi..
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..

As per your complain it seems that he is suffering from side effects of the antibiotics which he must be taking, previously as post extraction medication and not for Dry Socket..

In some patients antibiotics causes Heart burn which can be elicited as chest pain due to increased acidity and acid reflux..

You need not to worry as when the medicines will be stopped the chest pain will also subside..

As of now he must take Pantoprazole once every morning empty stomach till he is on medication..
Take antacid like Gelucil or Digene half an hour before meals..

Do not take the medicines that are given to you by dentist empty stomach..

Avoid hot, spicy and acidic foods..

Drink plenty of water..

In case if still there is no improvement consult your dentist..

Hope this information helps..

Thanks and regards.
