HI, thanks for using healthcare magic
Chest pain can be concerning because persons worry about the possibility of relation to the heart but chest pain can come from any structure in the chest from the skin inwards.
This means that it can originate from the skin, muscles, bone, lungs, esophagus or heart.
If you have a history of
heart disease,
high blood pressure, diabetes ,
high cholesterol, smoking or obesity then heart disease should be ruled out.
If none of these are present then it is unlikely heart related and other causes can be considered.
This would include possible pleuritis or
muscle pain.
Pleuritis refers to inflammation of the pleura of the lung. This can occur in infections and is treated with anti inflammatory medication such as ibuprofen, cataflam or naproxen.
Muscle pain can also be treated with these medications.
If the pain continues despite the medication then you should see your doctor for assessment.
I hope this helps
