What Causes Mild Chest Pain And Weight Gain While On Omeprazole?
I have been taking omeprazole 40 mg once a day for two months now for what my doctor prescribed for uscers. I have been experiencing mild chest pain and weight gain in the last couple weeks. Is this normal with the medication? She told me to take it for two months.
Since you are having these symptoms you are suggested to inform your treating doctor so that you can discontinue omeprazole while you can be prescribed with medicine that suits you better.
Cut on carbohydrates, sweet, trans fat, refined flour, etc. In the meantime, do regular exercise & take healthy diet. Avoid spicy, oily, fried food & salty food. Maintain healthy weight.
You are suggested to get clinically examined & get a general health check up done to rule out any developing coronary artery disease.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr. Nupur K
