Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My husband is a 54 year old male that has uncontrolled diabetes, high blood preassure and sleep apnea with a binging problem with food. Recently he noticed he has been having mild chest pains, on his left side. He says these pains come and go. He is also experiencing a lot of bloating. He was running 101.4 fever earlier today. I gave him some OTC medication with a fever reducer. I was wondering it these symptoms he is having could be signs of an early heartattack.
Hello, Welcome to healthcaremagic.com And thanks for sharing your concern with us. Any chest pain , after the age of 40 , first should be ruled out for a heart problem first with help of ECG and stress test. As your husband is having risk factors also in form of uncontrolled diabetes and hypertension so I would recommend you to consult with your healthcare providers and rule out heart related problems first . After ruling out heart problem , a chest x ray should be done to check lungs . Heart burn , GERD also can mimic like heart pain which should be evaluated with help of upper endoscopy after ruling out heart problems . I would recommend you to consult your healthcare providers straight away . Every chest pain should be taken seriously as time is muscle . I wish you good health. Best Regards, DR.S.TOMAR
