What Causes Mild Discomfort Around The Chest And Difficulty Breathing?
Earlier today I began feeling a mild discomfort across my chest slightly above my nipples. Over the next 7 hours the original slight discomfort had turned into a very noticeable feeling of my entire chest cavity tightening causing severe pain and discomfort as well as effecting my ability to breathe smoothly and comfortably... As of this moment it has been around 7 1/2 hours since I initially acknowledged the pain... I finally decided to stretch out on the couch, laying on my left side, approximately 20 min. ago and the discomfort seems to have lessened slightly and I m not having to struggle as much to breathe... My question is: Does this sound like I should go into the ER tonight?
After going through your question, I can understand your concern.
You should not neglect these symptoms. You should go ER for cardiac evaluation.
There is a need for - - ECG. - Cardiac enzymes like Trop I/T, CPK-MB. - 2DEcho of heart. - Chest X-ray to see heart and lung.
Possibility of hear disease increases with - - Advanced age. - Presence of diabetes, blood pressure, and cholesterol problem. - History of heart disease in family.
Once Cardiac evaluation is normal you can relax about your symptoms.
Hope this helps you, if so do vote.
