Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Mild Pain In Right Side Of Hand And Shoulder With History Of Having Pneumonia?
I have a dull pain in my right hand side, leading up to my right shoulder, I m slightly breathless. I had pneumonia and 15 blood clots on my lungs last year and have been diagnosed with protein c deficiency. I m currently on wafarin and have been on fragmin injections for the last week. The symptoms started the 2nd day on the injections. This feels like the last time, when I went to hospital and was kept in for 13 nights, only not as severe.
If your hand feels heavy and swollen then we need to rule out if you have a blood clot in the arm. If there is tingling and numbness with shooting pain from the back of the neck then it can be pinching of the nerve in the neck for which you will need an MRI scan of the cervical spine. I suggest you to go to the ER to get a clot ruled out to be safe.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Aashish Raghu, Orthopedic Surgeon
