What Causes Mild Pain In Upper Left Abdomen?

Hi. I have this dull pain on my upper left side of the abdomen. A few weeks ago, I woke with a sharp pain there feeling like someone kicked me, but it went away by the end of the day. There has been no pain since then till today. I especially notice it when I take a deep breath.

Hello!

Thank you for the query.

Sharp pain which appears while breathing, is very characteristic for rib nerve irritation (so called costochondiritis). The reason of this condition can be spine issue, inflammation or injury. However in most cases, the reason can not be determined.

I suggest you to try antiinflammatory medicines first ( like Ibuprofen) along with Magnesium and Potassium supplementation.

If this wont help, please consult orthopedist.

Hope this helps.
Regards.
