What Causes Mild Persistent Pain Below The Ribcage?

I have a dull ache underneath my ribs that has been persistent for about 6 months. It once caused severe pain while I was traveling abroad. It was so bad that I passed out from pain but i couldn t go to the hospital since I didn t have access to a hospital that night. By the morning it had passed. Now the pain is back as a dull irritation that flares up once in a while. This week it is been bothersome everyday but not too painful. I haven t been able to get an appointment with my doctor and I don t think it is enough to visit an ER.

Hello

As you explain the situation it might be from intestinal origin in which the distention of the colon is as such as you prescribe and with periods.First you should do an abdominal ultrasound and after having the result to consult your doctor for what to do further. It does not seems as serious no worries.

Regards
