What Causes Mild Upper Back Pain On The Right Side?

My husband has been having mid upper back pain on the right side near his shoulder blade. When I press on the area, he can feel it in his upper jaw. Recently he has also had some indigestion of which he has never had before. If this pain is intermittent and been going on for a few weeks, could it be his heart?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

From your description, I am of the opinion that the pain may have been caused by reflux esophagitis.

Pantoprazole or similar PPI drugs should be used and for quick relief, Mucaine gel can be used. your symptoms don't suggest any heart causes.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Ashish Ranjan, General & Family Physician
