What Causes Mild Vaginal Bleeding With History Of Hysterectomy?

I am 52 and had a hysterectomy around 20 years ago. I have been noticing a small amount of vaginal bleeding and some pain in my vagina. I am not sexually active, but have been lifting heavy boxes and going up and down a lot of stairs while helping daughter move. could strains cause the blood?

Hello! Thank you for writing us here.
You're right. Strains may cause bleeding/spotting sometimes and other possible reasons still exists.
Painful bleeding may occur in infections or PID which is also associated with pain in abdomen. Also bleeding could occur because of polyps or any growth in the reproductive tract.
I would suggest you to see a gynecologist for the correct diagnosis and treatment of your symptoms.

Best regards,
Dr Gunjan
