Hello,
You are experiencing itching throughout the body, burning redness in the limbs as well as pain. Avoid touching or scratching the area affected, it will trigger pain / hurt and also cause spread. Take care of your hygiene, take bath regularly and wear soft cotton clothes. You can apply a thin layer of ointment
Hydrocortisone on the area affected to get rid of itching. To reduce any inflammation and swelling you can take
acetaminophen, one SOS when required. Take antihistamine, one at bed time for 3-5 days to reduce symptoms of allergy.
You are also experiencing vertigo, a sensation of spinning or that the environment around you is spinning, it is not a pleasant sensation. Dizziness is when a person feels light headed or unsteady. In case of
severe allergy, the allergy is likely to affect the ears (eustachian tube) and inner
mucous membrane through increased mucus production and
nasal congestion. When the eustachian tube gets affected, it cannot regulate the pressure in the middle ear thus affecting the
vestibular system causing balance disorders and vertigo.
You are suggested to get your allergy symptoms treated. If you are experiencing vertigo thereafter also, get clinically examined by an ENT, you may need to het imaging tests,
audiometry and other tests done. You will be accordingly treated. Avoid entering into water parks, swimming pools, take bath not shower to prevent water from entering into your ears as it may cause infection. Do not touch your ears with dirty hands, do not put anything inside your ear.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Nupur K., General & Family Physician
