Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Milia On Cheeks Despite Using Minocycline And Retin-A?
I have been prescribed Minocycline 100mg BID (taking for 2yrs) and Retin-A at HS (using for 1mo) for cystic acne and milia. My cystic acne has cleared up my milia continues to be present all over both checks and near my temple areas. Are there any methods I can try or suggest something to my physician?
Using topical Doxycycline may be helpful along with vitamin E and may be tried only if you are not planning to have pregnancy as couple needs to avoid it in such scenario. Oral Doxycycline for two to four weeks may also be needed but for skin lesions should better be reviewed by a dermatologist too.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Thank you.
