Hi,I am Dr. Prabhakar Koregol (Cardiologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
hi I m 19 years old , my doctor says I have a minor heart murmur. I just had a recent ekg test and everything came out normal.Does that mean I m healthy? I also am active in competitive sports so now I will have an ultrasound of the heart to be 100 % sure. But I have a game this week my appointment isn t until a month should I hold back in participating?
More information is necessary about the murmur – location, intensity, radiation, influence by manoeuvres and so on An Echocardiogram is also necessary for diagnosis It is wiser to hold competitive sport until diagnosis is established…. A stress ECG is often necessary to advise on the level of exercise that can be undertaken
