Hi,
Thanks for posting in HCm.
I understand your concern.
A
miscarriage is the loss of a fetus before the 20th week of
pregnancy. Most miscarriages happen when the unborn baby has fatal genetic problems. Usually, these problems are unrelated to the mother.
Other causes of miscarriage include: Infection, Medical conditions in the mother, such as diabetes or
thyroid disease, Immune system responses, Physical problems in the mother and Uterine abnormalities.
A woman has a higher risk of miscarriage if her age is above 35 years and has a history of three or more miscarriages in the past.
Ultrasound scan is a non-invasive investigation which helps to detect the growth of fetus during pregnancy and it does not have any side effects in causing fetal anomalies or causing
fetal death.
You may need genetic studies and anatomical review to determine what could be the cause for this miscarriages and lack of fetal development.
Kindly consult Gynecologist for a detailed work-up, so that cause could be known and can be managed accordingly.
Hope the information provided would be helpful.
All the best.
