What Causes Missed Menstrual Cycles And Sore Breasts?
Hello, I m 44 yrs old. I had a m/c in may of this year at 6 wks. Then I had a normal period in June, July was only about 3 days. Then Aug came and I never got a period, period was due Aug 14 I took a hpt on Aug 18 it was negative. This is now Sept and I still haven t had a period. My breast were really sore about a week ago but now they aren t. Can I still be pregnant or peri menopause? Thanks
Hi, Thanks for posting in HCM. By going through the description, it appears that you might have started with peri-menopausal symptoms. However, the first possibility to be taught of if there is delay or missed period is pregnancy. Peri-menopausal symptoms could be caused due to hormonal imbalance. To know the cause, kindly get the following tests done: 1. Serum beta-HCG levels. 2. Serum FSH, LH and Prolactin levels. 3. Trans-vaginal ultrasound scan of pelvis. Kindly consult Gynecologist with the reports of the above tests so that it could be properly diagnosed and treated accordingly. Wish you all the best.
